FAQs

THERE IS NOTHING MORE ESSENTIAL THAN HAVING A PROFESSIONAL DJ, A SKILLED MASTER OF CEREMONY (MC), AND AN EXPERIENCED WEDDING PROFESSIONAL…

Here are some frequently asked questions from couples just like you! I hope this tool helps you along your journey in finding the perfect entertainment for your big day!

How do you customize the music experience for each couple? Can you help with song lists and providing suggestions?

The customized music experience is created by a soundtrack for weddings that is based on the couple’s style, taste, and vision for the event. Must-play lists will be added and do-not-play lists will be deleted from the soundtrack. Couples are in control of the music that will be played. Sufficient time needs to be allowed to ensure smooth execution of your event. If couples need inspiration, or want to make a playlist, they only need to click on the Spotify link at the bottom of I.G.B Entertainment’s website. They will be taken directly to a page to explore playlists and create their own. Spotify is not I.G.B Entertainment’s library, only a tool to help couples get ideas more conveniently.

How do you get the crowd pumped?

I will play music that creates nostalgia and will fulfill the vision for the reception entertainment. I will interact with the crowd and get people to sing along and feel special. Getting a crowd pumped will depend on the energy. Fun songs like the Electric Slide are great ice breakers and will get a crowd with little energy pumped up. Jokes and laughter go along way too!

Is this your full-time business?

Yes, I.G.B. Entertainment is my full time business.

Are weddings your primary focus?

Yes, weddings are my primary focus.

How do you handle song requests?

I play the requests that the couple prefers and only taking partygoers requests if the couple approves it ahead of time. It is prefered that I.G.B Entertainment stick to original playlist and not have many interruptions.

Why should we choose you my wedding DJ?

I am very confident in talking and communicating to a crowd. It is what I do and love! I like to think I'm pretty good at it.....I hope you will too!

I am a well-rounded, successful entertainer who can bring a level of expertise and versatility to your reception. I have varied and extensive experience performing in front of different audiences. I DJ weddings that are fun! I will make sure that your wedding is elegant and tasteful. I am a professional, polished emcee with a great voice. I’m happy to play whatever you would like, but if you leave it up to me I’m going to create the atmosphere you requested. I’m interested in getting to know you as a couple and building an amazing playlist that reflects your tastes, and also doesn’t come across as cheesy or predictable.

I have worked with all types of personalities and cultures. I can adapt easily to different styles of each individual couple.

How long have you been a DJ and how many weddings have you done?

I have eight years experience as a DJ. I have worked over twenty weddings of varied nationalities and cultures.

What makes you different from your competitors?

We would much rather tell you what makes I.G.B Entertainment awesome and you can decide if it is different from our competitors. My attention to detail, pride in customer service, and energy level are qualities you will find in me and my business. It’s a combination of talent, experience, and a positive attitude that make me a great DJ . I believe I am fair with my prices and try to work with couple's budgets. I spend a lot of time making sure my clients are given what they envisioned. What sets me apart significantly is I speak French, Spanish, and English fluently and have experience with many cultures.

Do you act as the “emcee” and make all of the announcements?

YES! I make sure that all of your guests are fully aware of what is going on throughout the night. I put extra effort in our sound check process and the equipment set up in order to ensure the best sound quality of our microphones. 7 out of 10 wedding receptions aren’t as fun as they should be due to the guests being unable to hear the DJ Announcements.

How would you define your “style” when making announcements?

My Style would be considered: Informative, enunciated, professional, energetic, and natural. I do not read from a script and I make sure everyone’s attention is grabbed before we make important announcements. I do not talk over the music or commentate throughout the night. I can transition any song into another with great ease.

What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

Depending on the crowd I am engaging, I usually create energy through the microphone and encourage people to come on out to the dance floor, or create some sort of event bringing people out by careful song selections. Sometimes even a slow song works to get people out, then playing a classic song with energy that people love!

What if something happens to you and you can’t make it to the wedding?

Despite our meticulous planning and preparation, accidents do happen. If I am injured or otherwise unable to perform on your wedding day, we have a backup plan. We work with other professional DJs in the area and ensure that we always have extra options on call for when there is an emergency.

Can we visit you at a performance?

Unfortunately, clients are not allowed to visit us at a wedding. I am sure that you would not appreciate the DJ inviting prospective clients to your wedding to see him in action. I do not want any distractions to I.G.B Entertainment’s performance. We hope you understand.

May we speak to your references?

OF COURSE! We encourage this very much! We can say how awesome we are, but we would much rather our clients say it for us. You can either read our professional reviews, or simply ask for my many references.

How involved can we be in selecting music for our event?

I am very helpful in selecting the music played for your event. Our biggest factor I stress is the DO NOT PLAY List! We can play so much great music, and I will play a playlist you create for us in a way that it will flow smoothly, but the most important aspect is what you do not want to hear.

Do you take requests from our guests?

This is completely up to you. I always ask two questions: 1. Do you want me to take requests? 2. Can I use my professional judgement?

Can we submit a “Do Not Play” list?

Yes

What will you wear to our wedding?

I dress fully formal for weddings! I make sure my appearance is completely professional. I do not wear sneakers or jeans to weddings, because I feel that I am representing a professional service. Unless, my clients absolutely demand it without any room for negotiating.

What do you require from us?

Adequate shelter, electricity, and to have fun!

Are you insured?

YES!! It is absolutely essential that any DJ you consider carries a full liability insurance policy. I.G.B Entertainment insurance is a Disc Jockey policy through R.V. Nuccio & Associates Insurance Brokers, Inc.

Do you take any breaks?

No, I do not. I also make sure I do not sit down while DJing. Other than during dinner time.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use powered speakers, concert performance microphones, state of the art/sound activated LED lighting, uplighting, a dry ice machine, and much more. If our clients ask for an equipment list, we provide them with one.

Do you bring backup equipment with you to the wedding?

YES! I practice a method I like to call “The ABES Method”. Meaning Always Bring Extra Stuff.

Do you have a wireless microphone?

Yes, a very good one!

Do you have a “light show”?

Yes, we do. We have packages that include lighting options. It all depends on what you imagine for your big day. We have uplighting with every color imaginable.

Do you belong to any professional associations or trade groups?

Yes, the American Disc Jockey Association. I am trained to uphold a very high standard of excellence.

What do you need from the venue in order to set up?

The only things I need from your venue are a standard 6-foot banquet table with linens, and a dedicated 15-amp circuit with a grounded outlet for electricity. If you will need me to play music or provide microphones for your ceremony, I will also need a small table there as well. Electricity needs to be available within 50 feet of anywhere my table will be placed, which is not an issue at most venues.

What is the process for booking you?

After contacting me to check my availablity for your date, you will receive an email to schedule an initial call/meeting to discuss your plans. Typically meetings will be conducted via Skype, FaceTime, or over the phone. If you would like to meet in person you are more than welcome to come to my home or meet at your venue. Initial meetings typically take about 20 minutes and it’s a chance for us to get to know each other and ask questions. Afterwards, the contract will be sent by email and your date will be held for 7 days. Simply email back the contract with a 50% deposit to hold the date, and we’re all set!

Do you offer any discounts?

I offer discounts for Sundays and for weddings between November and March. Veterans or Military personnel are given a 10% discount.

How much music can we request?

That is entirely up to you! As much or as little as you desire!

When do we need to submit our requests?

The requests should be submitted to me 30 days before your wedding. If you need help or advice putting together your playlist or timeline, or need help with song suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me at any time – I am happy to help!

What is the Dry Ice Experience?

You may have heard the term "Dancing on a Cloud" when referred to the special effect a dry ice machine produces. Similar to fog, this machine creates a Low-Lying Cloud Effect that wraps around the dance floor, creating breathtaking moments with the ones you love. A once in a lifetime song (around 4 minutes) will blow your loved ones away! When the machine is on it produces a cloud like effect resembling the Heavens!
